Whiz, with Bev King in the saddle, winning his first NRHA open class
in 2007
We sold Whiz, as a yearling, to Bob Loomis in June of 2004, so that
Bob could campaign him. Whiz's sire is West Coast Whiz, whom Bob owns,
and he wanted to get several foals from the 2003 crop shown, to promote
West Coast better. Unfortuately, Whiz came down with EPM at Bob's, and
after several months of rest and some good drugs, he was healthy again.
However, with many folks investing in futurity horses, Whiz was too far
behind in his training to make the 2006 futurity, and was thus put into
the NRHA Marketplace sale in 2005. There he was purchase by Jim and Bev
King from Baldwin, KS. Bev did a great job getting Whiz finished, and showing
him in 2007 as a 4 yr old. We are grateful she did so well with Lady's
firstborn. He has proven to be an athletic, intelligent, and good natured.
Whiz, winning the Palomino Open Reining stakes: July 2007
Total earning for 2007, with very limited showing $1,121.
